Spring Break .. get-together?

there was some thought that we could have a spring break get together?
Anyone still on for the same?
Guess with some of us working, we wont be having the "spring break" as such .. but guess we can spare the weekend?
lets brainstorm ..
think one of the ideas was to go somewhere where we dont know anyone .. and kinda rough it up ?
Vegas was one of the options .. and so was Chicago ??
I would hav invited you guys to Boston, but the winters clammy fingers are still holding on here .. not much fun .. unless we want to go skiing and surfing up in the NH mountains ..
how abt Florida ? :-D

The Cup Runneth Over

hmm .. been hearing so many negative reports of Namma Bengalooru :-(
especially traffic .. guess ppl are not complaining about power and water that much now .. but the pet peeve of the Junta seems to be the traffic .. but what can be done ??
Do you think its better that the boom subsides and Bangalore comes back to normal ?? It will be like a cup overflowing and then finding its equilibrium ...
would it be selfish to think this .. that we reap the benefits of the IT boom and not wish the same for the junta now?
But this would affect so many investments .. especially real estates one .. and rem I am one among them.. but get a feel that some losses will have to be incurred to bring back Bangalore to a plane of normalcy ..
It will never go back to the Pensioners paradise that it was .. but then again, hopefully it is not too late to turn this city into a place where we can live peacefully?
Whichever govt comes into power will have to ensure that the road projcts are finished .. even if it means not staryng new ones is OK to a certain extent ...
Think aout this .. the stretch of raod from Mekri Circile to all the way MG Road has just one broad stretch .. from the Cauvery theatre on till the Windsor Manor bridge .. thats it, and it is the main artery for ofice as well as school going population ..
what can be done ?

How far we have come

College life seems so far away, a time in the past, of an experience that we all cherish, and miss ..
At the same time, we are amazed when we are reminded that the College Life that we think we just left behind, was quite some time back and now, each of us striding out in a different direction, trying hard to keep in touch .. with the kind of life we knew and loved.
There were, well .. are 16 members of the Original Jundk group .. from our college .. MSRIT.
IT, Telecom, Med El .. the branches ... but we all had something in common which led us to each other and form a close circle of friends ... It was great fun in college .. and we were famous too :-) and were branded the "Jing-Bang" .. and later on Jundk .. that Story some other day :-D
Most of our 4 years in Eng was spent wth various activities and times spent with each other .. there were troubled times in between. but they were few and far in between nd easily taken care of ..
College ended and all of us were at cross roads .. not knowing where it would take us and if we would be able to keep the friendship going ..
Many went to the US for further studies .. many of us got jobs in Bangalore.. and suddenly we were struggling to find time for the gang .. But I think to our credit .. we still met up and spent time together .. guess the fact that initially most of us in Blore were employed in Caritor helped ..
It was dif to believe that we would actually end up the DCH way .. each getting involved in our own world.. guess we knew and didnt want to accept it.
All of a sudden, I look back and am amazed at how far we have come ..
I guess the wake up call was RPO's annoucement .. :-D .. and we all were made aware that we have indeed crossed a milestone perhaps ?
We have had people getting married, people getting married to aother's from our group itself :-), Long distance relationships (ie US jundk members and the rest of us :-D ), announcement of an Engagement .. and we were still behaving like things were the same .. but when RP announced she was having Baby .. I guess it woke us up .. to the fact that we should be proud of the fact that we are still the same group we were years ago . even with the changing times and changing lives .. we have managed to keep in touch the way we have been ..
guess if we continue this way at the least .. we will have something really special .. each of us will be bringing new members into the Jundk group .. and am sure each will be welocmed to become a part of this .. to let Jundk grow.

PS:Congratulations to Chandru for her Engagement. Wishing her and Bharath all the very best !
A pic from the time they visited me in Boston .. think Prashanth was asking for a photo :-D
