Vibe Treats...
It has been sometime since anyone put 'topee' to Mister.Vibe...Doesn't look like he has treated anyone for a long time.

Finally a weekend that was sunny .. in parts at least!
Apt hunting with Nan and wet Boston is no fun .. any one on its own is trouble enough.
Sunday saw some sunshine .. was a beautiful and warm day . but was windy .. especially along the Charles River Esplanade.
Managed to catch some sun late afternoon after some apt hunting followed by some food at the "Punjabi Dhaba" .. its almost like an Icy n Spicy place.. small, cramped seating .. loud bhangra music.. loads of people .. and nice economical food that tastes awesome!
We were stuffed with Anda Paneer's, Alu mutter's, Punjabi Poori Chole, Dahi Papri's and Veg Biryanis .. and waddled our way to the Charles River ..
Sat next to the river and listened to the slap of water against the rocks .. lulled into a drowsy state ..
sometime later .. continued our walk along the Charles River and Newbury Street ...
long day, but pretty fruitful as the aptmnts that Nandita looked at look promising ..
Weather's not going to remain good over the week :( .. dont know when the summer will start!
For all the leg pulling I have subjected Nandita to.. she's still been sweet and "offered to cook" for us ..
after having had Mexican @Picante, Felafels from the Felafel Place, Desi food @ Desi Dhaba, Pizza's from California Pizza Kitchen, Home Made Dal roti n rice to all the Food above at the Punjabi Dhaba .. we have pretty much run out of options .. just hope she doesn't put us through her specialised Pasta's :D
Guess we need to ask Vibe an Vid how they managed to survive when she cooked in Denver :) ... or did she????!!

Long Wknd .. here we come
Some of the junta from Jundk will be meeting up at the Moab desert in Utah over the long weekend (may 26-29).
Vid, Nan, Supps, Priya, Chotu, YB,Myself and Andy
the plan is that Vid, Pri, Nan, YB and myself will be driving down from Denver to Moab and have stops as and when we feel like . its gonna be a 7.5 - 8 hr journey and with stops will take more time maybe ..
Supps, Chotu and Andy will drive down from Salt Lake City to Moab which is a much shorter drive (4.5 - 5.5 hrs)
We meet in Moab and stay there for approx 2 days and head back the way we came ..
Hoping its as much fun as it promises ..
Look at this space for updates and personal experiences from the meet.

B'lore boys get together - Persian style...
During the first week of May, the boys from Bangalore - GA, Pros, Sud, Sath - thought it was time for a big dinner treat...Reason-Sath's return to Bangalore :)
After much discussion, it was decided to celebrate in style...in Persian style...
(It is becoming more and more tough to make a choice with the number of new restaurants that are coming up in Bangalore...!)
Sufi, the Persian restaurant, which got voted by the Times Food Guide as the best Persian restaurant in town, was our destination. And it didn't disappoint. Actually there was a good number of Iranian expats who had come in for dinner at the restaurant.
The experience was truly Persian, as we removed our shoes and sat on the plush 'diwans' and smoked the Hookah
During the course of our dinner, we had a chat with our onsite boy, Charlie.
After much discussion, it was decided to celebrate in style...in Persian style...

one more ties the KNOT...
Yet another person from the group takes the sacred vow!
First it was the topper-RP with Pawan, then came RV's wedding with Promod, then first of the boys-Vikas with Priya, then the first of the group pairs-Sudhakar with Chotu, then it was Susnata's wedding with Amit, and now Chandru's wedding with Bharath...
So that leaves...Suppi, Vid, Nandita, Elzi and Laks among the girls, and Vyb,GA, Pros and Sath among the boys...
Few will fall in the near future...looks like two more weddings will happen before Dec'06...
In bewtween were some more with known members to Jundk - Adarsh's marriage with Archana .. Radika got married too ..

Nandita's interview and RP's baby!
well .. before u all go around asking Nandita's interview like "shayad meri shadi ka khayal..." types .. she was here in Boston for a job related interview ..
I know .. what else can we expect from Nandita? :-P
Guess we can hear from from Nandita herself .. but think she is a lil busy with her Thesis work ..
From what I understood .. some job with a medical facility which has backing from MIT and Harvard .. and she came out in flying colouyrs .. she has to make the final decision and she mite be moving here by June ..
Also got to meet RP and Pawan .. was nice to see them .. RP looked radiant and so very happy with her Baby .. Pawan is still coming to grips with the east coast cold ..
Was good to catch up with all .. Myself and Priya were the proverbial Hosts .. and managed to convince Nandita to stay back at our place on Fri nite ..
We did the usual .. chat and catch up on who's doing what .. till the wee hours of the night.
Promised RP that we will be vising her sooner than later .. they seemed to like their first visit to Boston downtown .. and for someone coming from Arlington .. am sure anything will impress :D ... so think Nandita may be making a move over here ..
which will be nice .. she's been a friend from before Jundk days .. :-D
not that I say that is a good thing ;)

Here I am finally, thanks to Sath & Vikas. Those 4 years of engg were fun times and I'm glad that we're all still together and can share our thoughts and relive our memories through this blog.
I read this poem today (as I've been thinking about it for a couple of days now). Very apt for all of jundk, so I thought I'll put it in here. Some of us are thinking about the good times we've had, the places we've been to, the people we've met and some of us are thinking about the future, wondering whatz in store for us. Some of us are just waiting to be home, wherever that is. This is for all of us.
I sit beside the fire and think
Of all that I have seen,
Of meadow-flowers and butterflies
In summers that have been;
Of yellow leaves and gossamer
In autumns that there were,
With morning mist and silver sun
And wind upon my hair.
I sit beside the fire and think
Of how the world will be
When winter comes without a spring

Holi Hai !
Holi this year .. came and went .. and passed me by ..
without even a warning .. a second look .. and it was gone ..
Holi .. the time of the year when you just have a good time ..
there are other festivals that we like .. but Holi .. well u just dont care
about anything, let your hair down and let the kid in you come out to play ..
As I had said prev, we have come so far .. wonder how many of us in that pic got to play Holi again this year ?

Ball-boy and the plant with 2 Leaves
Well, what do I say ? Why am I always made to sound like I am from the Ben Stiller school of comedy ? Neways, if it entertains ppl, then I am doin atleast that . I admit I am flattered !!
The Lester incident makes me myself go bonkers even to this day. Here it is , from the horse's mouth. I guess it was 3rd sem and we were preparing for one of our terror exams like EC-1 or something, and we've got just something like 20 mins before the exam. I am drowned in my book , doin the usual last minute thingy. At this point, Lester nudges me and says "Hey look maan, a plant with only 2 leaves". What am I supposed to do ? I hope Lester wasnt trying to lighten our moods with this joke.
I yelled out my customary "Balls to you" at Lester .
It has turned out to be a bit of a rishi-muni curse for the poor plant. Even as of 2005, the plant still has 2 leaves and Sath's snap is testimony to it !

There is no doubt that he is by far the most discussed dude in this group...and NO ONE CAN BEAT VIBE!
This is because of two reasons:
The girls consider him as the 'sweetest' guy of the gang, while the guys are waiting to pounce and pull his leg big time as he is the undisputed 'Bakra'.
The other reason for such wide spread discussion is due to fact that he gets into 'trouble' in the most unlikely of places and the most funniest of situations. Some of his comments are perhaps some of the best one liners available. (Of course the BALLS jokes are a part of common lore in today's world, thanks to Vibe)
Here is a snap from what is now become famous as the 'tree with two leaves' incident...it was one of those Funny Situations involving Vibe and Lester(MSR Telecom 2002). I shall leave it to Vibe to provide further explanation on this...
